The suspicious cardboard box

State security employees may be defined as “those who cannot ignore a real or imagined threat.” This is an opportunity for viral action.

A suspicious cardboard box placed in every city park, every night, would require only a few dozen brave volunteers and limited coordination, but exponentially larger resources for the police to dispose of the boxes. Imagine the number of cops to close off the parks and then add the bomb squad staff, of which there couldn’t possibly be enough, and you get the idea.

By seeding areas of the city with imaginary threats where street protest is not planned and relying on the natural tendency of the police to overreact, an entire security force can be occupied elsewhere, and protesters are freed from harassment and violence.
